Well, I'm back from the Bahamas! I had such a lovely time. It was gorgeous! Spent much time on the beach and various cruises. Went snorkeling and parasailing, which was very cool, if a bit unnerving!! We had a suite with a balcony with a fabulous view and were treated to some great fireworks 2 nights of the week. All in all, so very relaxing. It's been so long since I just got to lounge and drift to sleep on the beach. And the water is so gorgeous. It really was a great week, everything worked out fabulous. I hung out with our reps down on site, getting into the clubs and on the cruises - big bonus there!
So now I'm back, back at work, greeted by more complaint letters. But luckily, they're almost done, (the ones I have now, at least). I'm very miffed at hotmail, however. I get so much crap junk mail, that being away for a week, it completely cleared out my inbox. All the stuff I'd saved for one reason or another is gone because I got so much crap mail! Ughhh! I did, however, get an email back today from the 2004 Athens Olympics Volunteer people! Oh, so exciting! It was just a quick email but they said they'd be in touch soon about my applying to be a volunteer at the Olympics. I am so excited, how cool would that be?! Always wanted to go to Athens, and what a cool reason to go too!
Ahh, it's gorgeous and sunny out, the birds were chirping this morning, the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air, everything is so green, and I got the best fortune cookie fortune...
You will step on the soil of many countries.
How perfect.

What a weekend! Oh my God! It was so much fun. Montreal itself, eh, okay, but the Short Track Championships? Fan-freaking-tastic!!! Oh, so much fun, even without my boy! We saw everyone, and were like 10 feet from them, thanks to our front row seats. Got pictures of all the Americans and all the Olympic stars. And damn, short track is full of hot guys (that Fabio Carta is hot - if only he hadn't made questionable comments about Apolo!) Honestly though, it was so cool that we were that close to all the skaters. I had Shani Davis from the US sitting like 4 rows behind us at one point and Satoru Terao from Japan right in front of me, because yes, they were walking all around the place. Fabio was just everywhere and JP Kepka of the US was wandering around a bit too. And of course, being in Montreal, the Canadian team was all over the place. We just couldn't find Rusty for most of the time, though we did get some good pictures of him the last day and Lucy managed to get a wave from him. And our US guys got 2 bronze!
Just have to watch on Saturday to see if we managed to get ourselves on TV, sitting in the front row waving our American flag! Oh, what can I say, I am hooked, completely. It was so cool to watch this competition, better than on TV. I especially like the relays, got some good pictures of those I think. Ahhh! It was SO MUCH FUN! Next time, my Apolo better be there!
So I come back on a gorgeous day only to have to come back here, to work , and be greeted with a pile of new complaint letters. This is enough, I can't take it, if someone doesn't start helping me with these soon, I might just lose it completely. Reading one after another does very bad things for your stress level and mental well-being! But I have moved back up to my old desk. While I no longer have my private little corner, I do have my window back and am not staring at some fluorescent wall (much better on the eyes). And I'm back up here with people, yea human interaction!
Which of the Disney Princesses are you?
or this one:
Which of the Disney Princesses are you?
I kept getting both of these.

Ah, another beautiful day, just like Saturday. Saturday was fantastic, driving with the windows down, the sun shining, David Gray on the stereo, ah, beautiful...too bad I was on my way to work, and the day proceeded into a hellish night. I hate spring break. I do, with a passion I can't describe. This job has introduced me to a class of people I just can't believe. The most rude, ignorant, insulting, mean and offensive things people say to us is just beyond my comprehension. No one deserves to be treated like that. I will, apparently, though I know no details, be heading to the Bahamas myself next weekend and I cannot wait to just spend the week on the beach. Some of our onsite people are coming back and the first thing they say is, 'oh, I don't want to be back here.' And I'm like, 'don't you even start!'
And it was someone's bright idea to put me in charge of customer service complaint letters. Oh, you are so going to pay. Apparently, I earned this because I am the 'English major' and I am compassionate, etc. Oh, compassion is out the window after reading some of these things. Do you honestly think someone is going to want to help you if you put the most rude, biting and patronizing comments in your letter. Oh, no, you're getting yourself nowhere! I do not think handling these things is good for my well-being. I tend to take them personally, though I shouldn't, and I get very stressed.
I so need a week on the beach, and, of course, there's Montreal this weekend, even without Apolo...it'll be my first free weekend since February! I've been talking with Chrissy here at work about getting back out there into the traveling. When I mention traveling and backpacking and all the places I want to go, most people at home here are like, "oh, that's nice, hmm" (except for the few I've enticed to Scotland for New Year's), but that is the general consensus, but when you're out there, in the hostels where you meet other people and hear their stories of where they've been and where they're going, you start to think, "wow, there really are people like me doing this too." So now when I get email updates from my friends in various countries and all, I'm thinking I really have to get back into this soon. After a while, you start to miss it. Well, I do.

Just a place to let out some of my random thoughts. May not know what I'm doing but I'm always learning something.
